Formicarium: a pixel ant farm

A pane of sand between two sheets of glass, with a queen and her workers inside. They dig tunnels and chambers, carry the sand up to a heap on the surface, and fetch any food you drop. When there's food, the queen lays eggs that grow into new workers, and the colony digs more room. Your farm is saved in this browser and keeps going while you're away. Feed drops food where you click; Tap knocks on the glass; Lamp switches between day and night; Fast speeds time up.
